Proud Moment - Receiving PhD Degree from the University of Madras Vice Chancellor

A proud moment, indeed! At the 162nd annual convocation ceremony of the University of Madras on 19 November 2019, I had the privilege, by God’s Grace, to formally receive my PhD degree from Vice Chancellor, Dr. P. Duraisamy. The ceremony was officially chaired by the Governor of Tamil Nadu and the University’s Chancellor, Mr. Banwarilal Purohit.

What made the day different and distinctive was the fact that it was the culmination of an 8-year long journey. Ever since the first book was read and the very first words were penned for this research in December 2011 and the thesis was submitted in August 2016 followed by the viva-voce exam on 30 April 2018, I had been looking forward to this day with much enthusiasm and excitement. And it finally happened yesterday! I felt honored to be at this prestigious institution which is one of the first three Indian universities that were set up back in 1857 - yes, it’s 162-year old! Its magnificent structures characterized by the 19th century architecture and the elegant and noble ambiance made the day even more memorable.

Proud to be part of such an historic and epic educational journey!

Al Hamdu Lillah (Thank God)
